New Code of Practice Overview

Is your organisation looking for support to meet the legal requirements of the new Code of Practice ?

Are you looking to create a safe, supportive and thriving environment?

Does your business want to be an memploer of choice?

As with the introduction of all new legislation it can be difficult to navigate and identify what are the key first steps for your organisation to ensure compliance and more importantly in the case of psychological safety, to lead the industry with your people always front of mind.

This is why we have designed a fit for purpose questionnaire as a starting point for all the organisations and teams.

The twenty-five questions cover five key areas - Role, Leadership, Policy, Safety and General Information. To lead, embrace and embed psychological safety in your workplace will ensure current employees feel seen and heard, which is the very base level requirement for creating and maintaining a psychological safe environment.

These actions will also make your organisation an employer of choice. Research clearly demonstrates that in this era of ‘The Mass Resignation’ and ‘Quiet Quitting’, organisations who fail to integrate and embed exceptional wellbeing and mental health initiatives will not keep up with industry.

Their culture will no longer attract and retain elite and committed staff and will fall behind in the key success areas of innovation and creativity. The Wholistic Being can offer many levels and stages of support, depending on organisational and people requirements.

Safe Work Australia Chief Executive Officer Michelle Baxter said that “under work health and safety laws, PCBUs have a positive duty to do everything they reasonably can to prevent exposure to psychosocial hazards and risks.”

“On average, work-related psychological injuries have longer recovery times, higher costs, and require more time away from work when compared with physical injuries. (Safe Work Australia Website 02 Aug 2022).
